HP-UX Auto Port Aggregation provides the ability to “load balance” LAN traffic over multiple physical interfaces, using a “trunk" or “aggregate” mechanism, with widely available network protocols. In LAN Monitor mode, it also provides the means to automatically fail a LAN card over to one or more standby interfaces in the event of a hardware failure on the primary LAN connection.
